MTR AMIPro™ System
MTR AMIPro™ technology integrated in Smart Grid solutions & products make them perfectly suited to meet the management & control needs of tomorrow’s utility grids.
In a nutshell: an intelligent and smart infrastructure offering increased management and control ability, fault protection and analysis, and a flexible and proactively operating infrastructure. Other data communication networks including PLC, cellular and mesh lack the reliability, reach, capacity, and scalability offered by MTR.
The First layer is the end point communication units. These units can be integrated in the meter or independently connected to water, electricity and gas meter sensors, or any other sensor.
The Second layer is the communication infrastructure that enables the connection between end point communication units and the control center software application. Communication uses a unique MTR developed protocol. Communication between base station collectors and the control center application is via standard available public networks such as the cellular network (GPRS), wireless network (Wi-Fi) or wired (TCP / IP).
The Third layer is a software application developed by MTR that processes and displays the data to the customer and allows control and monitoring of all system components.
Management & Control Solution Advantages:
MTR "AMIPro™" 2 way symmetric FIXED/MESH network communication – resolving all the issues inherent in ZigBee and Wi-Fi
Time Synchronization - The Control Center synchronizes all system parts including end point communication units.
MTR "Balance Loop Technology™" – The system provides accurate calculation of non-revenue supply. Calculation can be done twice a day on every circuit of consumption. Highly precise calculation times are achieved thanks to time synchronization allowing freeze readings of less than a second.
Parameter Updates- Parameters such as alarm thresholds, the number of freeze readings for calculating water depreciation, data readings per day, all are operated from the control center.
Operational Modes- The system can work in a number of different operational modes that allows greater access to the end units, either to some of them or a specific unit.
100% reception coverage – Thanks to long range reception capabilities, as well as the ability of every end unit to become a repeater and unique positioning (developed at MTR) gives the ability to receive 100% coverage.
Plug & play self healing network - all new end point communication units added to the system are automatically identified and associated with the network. Simple wireless installation.
